About Hessonite:
Gomed is the Indian name for the Gemstone Hessonite. According to the text of Jatakatatva, hessonite is the jyotish gemstone of Rahu (Caput Draconic or Dragon's Head). A pure and transparent hessonite having a delicate hue, brilliance, lustre, and uniform colour neutralizes the evil effects of Rahu, and if Rahu is well posited it gives beneficial results during its major period and sub periods, removes fear, creates clarity of mind, and helps spiritual growth.
Hessonite pishthi or oxide gives lustre to the skin, improves the faculty of reasoning and thinking, gives strength to dhatus (body and semen), and gives longevity, among others.
