Benoquin Cream  is a topical application cream which is formulated with monobenzyl ether hydroquinone. It comes in the form of colorless crystalline formation. Benoquin used preferably to treat vitiligo and skin de pigmentation problems. Vitiligo is a serious skin condition where skin discoloration occurs in the form of shapeless patches which are usually milky color. The discoloration on the skin occurs when the melanocytes namely the melanin producing cells are destroyed. The white patches occurs on any part of the body mostly starts from hands, elbows, face and neck. The hair growth on these patches also grows white. The main cause for vitiligo is still unknown. But the researchers have found out some astounding facts about the skin condition. The reasons behind the cause are emotional stress and tension, vitiligo running into families, thyroid diseases also known as hashimoto’s thyroiditis and autoimmune deficiency. Auto immune deficiency occurs inside the body immune system attacks the body cells, blood vessels, white blood cells mistaking them to be a threat to the body. This condition that occurs is known as autoimmune deficiency in the body. Though this disorder can be treated with various skin surgeries but it is not affordable to everyone. Hence FDA gave its approval to use Benoquin topical application cream for a non prescription treatment for vitiligo.

 

 

Side effects associated with Benoquin:- 

 

Though there are very rare side effects with respect to this medication but there are possibilities of below side effects:

Skin irritations and itching

Reddening and hives on the skin

Swelling of the face and occurring of rashes

Problems with breathing.

 

Dosage and Administration

 

Daily application of Benoquin mainly 2-3 times daily is recommended for getting best results. The medication starts showing up results within 4-6 months of regular application.
