Tamoxifen Tablet ( Systemic) (ta-MOX-i-fen) is a medicine, which blocks the effects of the estrogen hormone in the body. It is used to treat breast cancer in both men & women. It may also be prescribed to treat various other kinds of cancer, as determined by your doctor. Tamoxifen is also used to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in women, who are at high risk of developing one. Those women, who are at high risk for developing breast cancer, are at least 35 years of age and have a combination of various risk factors that increases their chances of developing breast cancer by 1.67% or more, over the period of next 5 years.
