Degasser
Degasser
It is a very useful flux for the removal of hydrogen during casting process of Al. And its alloys .It is always susceptible that aluminium and its alloys absorb hydrogen during melting even under most controlled process. It is rather impossible to prevent diffusion of gas.
Our Degassing fluxes provide a very strong degassing action along with removal of suspended Oxides and other impurities and Grain refinement to an appreciable extent. Our degassers when plunged to the bottom of molten metal generate chlorine gas which bubbles through and sweep hydrogen and other harmful gases with it.
We have a wide range of degassers to suit different procedure of Aluminium casting which are produced very carefully from quality chemicals to ensure that degassers hold only minimum moisture in whatever form it may be.
BD-101
A very strong titanium free Degasser.
Formulated for pure Al. Of high conductivity.
Does not have any grain refining effect.
BD-101/A
A strong degassing agent of Al. Alloys
Formulated for fluxing of suspended oxides and other impurities.
BD-101/B
A cheaper degasser.
Specially used by propergy units.
BD-101/R
Degasser cum grain refiner.
Formulated for high silicon Aluminium alloys (up to 13%)
Consumed in standard procedures in most foundries.
Instructions for use-
Attain the required temperatures.
Shut off the furnace to get better degassing effect in falling temp.
Pull the dross a little and plunge the measured quantity of degasser using a coated and preheated perforated bell plunger to the bottom of the melt. When bubbling action has ceased the plunger and slag off the dross after thorough rabbling.
Add degasser in three four stages using a required proportion of the total addition for prolonged action.
Quantity to be used
Percentage of the degasser of the metal varies with condition of the charge and temperature at which degassing is carried out.
0.15% to 0.25% of melt in case of ingot metal.
0.50% of melt for scrap metal.
