At a distance of 90 km from Port Blair, the capital of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Baratang Island is a stretch of upto 238 square km. Some of the tourist attractions of the island are Mud Volcano and limestone caves, Baludera beach, Roglachang beach and Parrot Island etc.
Parrot Island
Located near the Baratang Island, Parrot Island is frequented by bird lovers many times during the year and especially to see the parrots returning back to their homes.
Limestone Caves
One of the very famous attractions of the Nayadera city, Baratang Island is the Limestone Caves, which are legendary for having imposing stalactites and stalagmites, which over the years have faced erosion and formed interesting shapes. One should not forget to carry a torch along while visiting the caves in the dusk hours.
Mud Volcano
The first mud volcano erupted in 2003. Popularly called Jalki by the natives, the mud volcanoes are a popular tourist attraction among the many sights that Baratang Island offers.
